Queso Dip Slower Cooker Recipe
Here's a Queso Dip recipe you can make as an appetizer, party dish or comfort snack!
Ingredients You Will Need:
1 Block of Original Velveeta Cheese
1lb Package Ground Beef
1 Can of Rotel (Chunky)
Ortega Spicy Taco Seasoning
Large Bag of Tortilla Chips
Kitchen Items:
Crock Pot
Skillet
1 pack of Slow Cooker Liners
Prep/Cooking Time:
2 hour and 45 minutes
How to Make Queso Dip:
Cook 1lb ground beef in a skillet on stove top set to medium, stir in half of the Ortega Spicy Taco Seasoning. Cook for 10 minutes, the ground beef will be brown once finished. Cut Velveeta cheese into about 8 large pieces or you can dice them up even smaller.
Place a slower cooker liner in your Crock Pot! These are lifesavers and make clean up so much easier, especially for a recipe using cheese.
Next, add the cheese, ground beef and can of Rotel into your Crock Pot. Add the remaining taco seasoning. Set Crock Pot to low heat (different slow cookers offer varies heat temperatures). Mine has a 4, 6, 8, 10 hour option. I select the 10 hour button because it cooks the slowest and gives the queso dip that really melty consistently. But the fantastic part is you don't actually have to wait that long, the dip is ready in about 2 hours and 30 minutes on this setting.
While cooking, stir occasionally to make sure all the ingredients are mixed. Once it's finished serve in a bowl with a side of your favorite tortilla chips! I had plenty of leftovers, since I only made this recipe for myself. But it can easily feed multiple people. You can also make this recipe with chorizo or turkey sausage!
